Skill Development Initiatives
Hotel Association Pokhara (HAPN) conducts a range of training programs and educational seminars designed to enhance the competencies of hotel employees, elevate service standards, and promote sustainable tourism practices. These initiatives focus on key areas such as:
– Hospitality Management: Comprehensive training on hotel operations, customer service excellence, and management strategies.
– Food & Beverage Services: Specialized workshops covering culinary skills, restaurant management, and barista training.
– Housekeeping & Hygiene: Programs dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in hospitality establishments.
– Sustainable Tourism Practices: Training on eco-friendly hospitality operations and responsible tourism.
– Hotel Certification & Quality Standards: Certification programs aimed at ensuring excellence in hotel services.
HAPN operates under the umbrella of the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) and collaborates with government agencies, the Nepal Tourism Board, NGOs, INGOs, and private training institutions to facilitate educational seminars, workshops, and certification programs.
Currently, HAN and HAPN are partnering with the ENSSURE Project to advance skill development within the hospitality sector. This collaboration is instrumental in training hotel staff, enhancing service quality, and equipping Nepalese youth with practical experience in hotel management, food and beverage services, and other hospitality-related disciplines.
The ENSSURE Project (Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment) is a vocational education and training initiative in Nepal designed to align workforce skills with labor market demands. It emphasizes Dual Vocational Education and Training (Dual VET), integrating classroom instruction with hands-on industry experience to improve employability.
This strategic partnership underscores a commitment to fostering a skilled workforce, strengthening Nepal’s hospitality industry, and ensuring sustainable employment opportunities for young professionals.
